Samantha Bee
"News I'd Like To F@#K."
I was writing this article over the past couple weeks. I planned to post it around that time but got lazy. I am glad I was lazy though because on Tuesday, May 16th, I saw this Daily Show news segment entitled, News I'd Like to F@#k hosted by Samantha Bee.

"This isn't gussied up or attractive news we're seeing. This is news I'd like to f@#k."

Instead of focusing on the national 24-hours news anchors in The Daily Show segment, I decided to focus on the local anchors. While news anchors could never be lepers, it seems that with each successive year, they become better looking. After watching the local news I could only find three NILFs so the last two are actually national anchors - one new and one that I've thought was hot for a long, long time.

Below are my Top 5 NILFs (in no order).

Anna Davlantes
Anna Davlantes
1. Anna Davlantes (NBC)
In May 2003, Davlantes broke the Glenbrook North girl's hazing story by obtaining the first videotape of the powder puff hazing event -- a story that made headlines worldwide and prompted school district reforms. She also received a headliner award for a story on an exotic animal refuge.

What can I say about Anna Davlantes. The picture on the right doesn't nearly do her justice. I think she's been in Chicago a few years now but do yourself a favor and check out 10 p.m. NBC newscast.

Jackie Bange

2. Jackie Bange (WGN)
Jackie Bange joined the WGN-TV News staff in August of 1993 as a per diem reporter. In January of 1994, she became a full-time general assignment reporter and was quickly promoted to Weekend Anchor on the WGN News at Nine. Bange also anchored the WGN Morning Show from January 1995 to October 1995.

A lot of people probably disagree with me on this one. I had a crush on Jackie Bange since high school. She's the Diane Lane or Michelle Pfeiffer of local TV news anchors. Plus, I remember that she used to date Mark Grace - If she's good enough for Grace to break up with, then she's good enough for me.

3. Tamron Hall (FOX)
My passion was a local community affairs show targeted at helping people get to know services available to them around the city. My reason for going into broadcasting was quite simple: I wanted to do something that could, if done right, help everyday people like my mother Mary and father Clarence improve the quality of their lives.

Interesting. Tamron made no mention of her recent breast implant surgery. I could not find any good pictures of Tamron Hall. In fact, finding pictures of local newscasters is pretty hard. All of the bio's on the station website have really horrible pictures. Anyway, if Jackie Bange is Diane Lane, then Tamron is clearly the Halle Berry of local news.

Lindsay Czarniak

4. Lindsay Czarniak (NBC)
Lindsay Czarniak is an anchor and reporter for News4 Sports and co-host of The George Michael Sports Machine. She also co-hosts Gameplan, News4's Redskins show that airs during football season.

Lindsay Czarniak is not a local anchor in Chicago. She's a local D.C. anchor BUT she was a co-host on the now deceased, George Michael's Sports Machine, which is when I noticed her. Even though I've had some bad luck with girls named "Lindsay" I have an affinity for skinny blondes which is why I'm putting her on the list.

Campbell Brown

5. Campbell Brown (NBC Today Show - Weekend Edition)
Campbell Brown is the co-anchor of NBC’s “Today,” Weekend Edition, the nation’s top-rated weekend news program. She also serves as a primary correspondent for “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” and the weekday “Today” show.

I saved this one for last. Here's the thing about Campbell Brown...she's hot. Not just regular hot, but, "I think I could actually bring her home to mom" hot and she even seems sweet enough that she wouldn't cheat on you. A few years ago I actually started watching the news on Saturday mornings instead of cartoons and that's when I stumbled on the NILF Campbell Brown.

To this day I can still only watch her for a little bit because I get distracted by her looks. Lester Holt (who used to be a local Chicago anchor) is one lucky man.

Of the 5 NILFs I've listed, in my book, she is clearly the best one...and she's not even blonde.
