Peter Cullen
The DeNiro of Animation
In preparation for the new Transformers movie...Peter Cullen did the voice of Optimus Prime. Frank Welker did the voice of Megatron in Transformers. Peter Cullen did the voice of Venger. Frank Welker did the voice of Tiamat (Venger’s dragon nemesis) and Uni (the stupid unicorn) in Dungeons and Dragons. Both did voices for Gremlins in 1984 and Welker was Stripe. These two were the Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino of the voice-over world.

Someone explain this dream to me:
I was at my friend’s house in Glen Ellyn but it was also somehow my house. I needed to go to Downers Grove for a job interview with UPS at 9am and I thought leaving my house at 8:55 would give me ample time. I got in my car and drove to Downers Grove and I had to cross a bridge and it was raining heavily. I crossed the bridge and got to this one area with a McDonald’s and a separate store/drive-up for the toys in the happy mean. I was clearly lost so I started asking people where the business district in Downers Grove was located. None knew. There were a lot of people around and families were sitting at picnic tables enjoying their fast food. It was dark out now and my car turned into a bicycle. I was hungry so I went to McDonald’s and got one cheeseburger. After eating half I realized that I shouldn’t be eating fast food so I threw the other half away and then spit out what I was eating. I then went back to my bike and someone had stolen it and replaced it with a pogo stick. As I asked more people where Downers Grove was located, Ralph Macchio showed up. RM looked homeless. Finally someone knew how to get to the business district and told me. I told Ralph Macchio that I was headed to UPS for a job interview and asked if he wanted to come with me. He said he did and we left.

Jayble: It’s so great that fat people, African Americans, and mothers can all get along. A lesson for all of us!
Heidi: Now if only the Bonjeans or the Sunnis and Shiites could get along, the world would be a happy place!

Pan's Labrynth
Pan's Labrynth
If you haven't seen Pan's Labrynth, go watch it immediately. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

I was watching the movie Dear Wendy the other day and looked up some of the actors that seemed familiar - one in particular was a chap by the name of William Hootkins. As I was scrolling through is bio I realized he was familiar because he played Eckhart in the 1989 Batman movie. Now here is the shocking part - he also played Porkins in Star Wars. I am an avid Star Wars fan and Batman fan yet I never pieced this together.

When mankind is finally enslaved, it is this guy that will helm the conquest.

Jim Halpert and Kevin Rose
Rose could have a solid legal case against Krasinski...or Halpert could have a solid case against Rose.
I highly recommend that people subscribe/watch the Diggnation podcast from Revision 3. Alex and Kevin Rose are really funny and it's a good way to get caught up on some of the latest things going on. The weird part is that everytime I watch/hear Kevin Rose talk, I can't help but think how much he sounds like Jim Halpert. I have to believe that John Krasinski based Jim Halpert on Kevin Rose. It's eerie. Really fucking eerie. The way he talks and even his mannerisms are so like Jim Halpert that I expect the camera to pan over to Pam Beesely during Diggnation podcasts.

A study of my yearbooks from freshman and sophomore years of high school reveal that every signature could be classified into one of the following four categores:
 ▪Have a great summer
 ▪Didn't you hate <class name> or <teacher name>?
 ▪Use of the "Not!" joke
 ▪See ya next year
Congratulations Wes Helston who managed to work in all four categories and use the "Not" joke and unprecedented five times.

I wonder if Barrett was taking swings at Chicago players or San Diego players in the Cubs vs. Padres brawl.

Ah yes, now that Barrett has been traded...he probably was swinging at Cubs players. And speaking of the Cubs...sweep anyone?

Anyone that is a Transformers fan will find The Rude Awakening of Optimus Prime hilarious.

Guitar Hero III - My Name Is Jonas
Guitar Hero III - My Name Is Jonas
After dominating Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II, I have now turned my pursuits to Percussion Hero. I have already made significant progress on Drum Hero, Cowbell Hero, and Triangle Hero (all part of Percussion Hero). I should have these mastered by the time Guitar Hero III comes out.

Kevin Spacey as Christopher Walken as Han Solo
Kevin Spacey as Christopher Walken as Han Solo
My friend Ian, sent me this article about Top Movie Role Reversals, and it got me thinking that Burt Reynolds as Michael Corleone is really scary (in the bad way) and it brought back memories of these SNL Star Wars skits: Star Wars Screen Test #1 and Star Wars Screen Test #2. I forgot just how funny Spacey can be.

Oh those Japanese...

So - I might be taking a little break from Jaybles to focus on writing a book that I've been working on (slowly). I am still hoping to update it once a month, but that may get pushed to every two months...stay tuned.
